In South Africa, September is Heritage month, (yeah, I'm a bit late 🙈) with Heritage Day on the 24th. We are diverse groups of people, so there are many ways to celebrate it. I designed a small, basic mandala to celebrate my Khoi heritage. The Khoi people were the first people the Europeans encountered when they landed at Table Bay. My design is called Krotoa. She was called Eva by the Dutch and was servant / interpreter to the Van Riebeecks. Eventually she married Pieter van Meerhof in 1664 and they had children, but Krotoa's life was hard and troublesome. I used two colours, trying to show how she had to deal with being Khoi but living an European lifestyle.

  Hi there, Crafties I know, it's been ages since I've posted anything! But I was in a bit of a fix. You see, my laptop is not what it used to be and my Tablet likes acting up when I need to upload pics. I don't usually do the posts on our desktop PC as it is not in my working / crafting space, but...! I thought I owe blogland some new posts. And I was just getting started with The Windows of Camelot . I must tell you, I got really carried away working out blocks for windows. Romance  Hi there, Crafties I don't know about you, but I don't consider myself to be a very romantic person. Of course, I love getting something nice from Hubby, but it doesn't have to be chocolates or flowers. Being a writer, I really appreciate a journal or notebook more. But for all the romantics, here's a lovely little scarf. I know many people don't like long, flowing scarfs (my sis is one of them). You can make it as long as you like, but mine is short and sweet with only 20 motifs. It is quick and easy to whip up over a weekend. The last minute accessory for that special date. I've used some thinnish leftover yarn (I have small balls without any labels), but I know you have just the right yarn sitting around waiting for something like this.
